Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Sunday that his monthly radio program, 'Mann Ki Baat,' will be on hold for the next three months in adherence to political ethics, ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

In the 110th episode of the program, Modi urged first-time voters to participate in record numbers and emphasized that their maiden vote should be cast for the betterment of the nation.

With general elections expected in April-May, Modi highlighted the possibility of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) being enforced in March, similar to 2019. The MCC guidelines by the Election Commission mandate that official events or public-funded platforms should not be utilized for activities that could favor a particular political party.

Modi commended the success of 'Mann Ki Baat,' celebrating its autonomy from government influence throughout its 110 episodes. He reiterated that the program is dedicated to the collective strength and achievements of the country, emphasizing its essence as a platform "of the people, for the people, and by the people."

Expressing anticipation for the 111th episode, Modi expressed optimism, stating that it would coincide with an auspicious number. He also consistently expressed confidence in retaining power in the forthcoming elections.

This isn't the first time the program has been deferred; it was also paused before the 2019 general elections. Modi took the opportunity to encourage first-time voters to exercise their franchise, emphasizing that the upcoming Lok Sabha will symbolize their aspirations.

Youth engagement in political activities was also highlighted by Modi, urging them to remain informed and participate actively in debates and discussions. He stressed the importance of the first vote being for the country's welfare.

Additionally, Modi endorsed the Election Commission's campaign, "Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye," encouraging first-time voters to utilize their voting rights to the fullest. He emphasized that the greater the participation of young voters in the electoral process, the more beneficial it would be for the nation.

As 'Mann Ki Baat' takes a temporary hiatus, the Prime Minister's message resonates, urging citizens to actively engage in the democratic process and make informed choices for the future of the country.
