Five illegal immigrants were arrested by the Delhi police for forcibly entering the Red Fort, said the officials.
“All of them are illegal immigrants who tried to forcibly enter the Red Fort premises," said the police, adding, “The age of all of them is around 20-25 years, and they work as labourers in Delhi. The Police have recovered some Bangladeshi documents from them. Currently, they are being interrogated." The investigation is on.
Besides this, ten Bangladeshi nationals were arrested by Gurugram Police on Saturday after it was discovered that they were residing in the city illegally. Their Bangladeshi nationality was verified by identification documents found on them.
Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday affirmed that the Bangladeshi illegal immigrants are being sent back, and wrote on X, "Bangladeshi infiltrators living illegally in Haryana are being identified and sent back to Bangladesh through the BSF at the West Bengal border. Not a single illegal Bangladeshi infiltrator will be allowed to remain on Haryana's soil. Any activity against the country's security and integrity will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against anyone who tries to undermine India's unity."
