The Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir police, CRPF, SDRF and volunteer rescue teams on Sunday launched a joint and coordinated search operation after a cloudburst hit Rajgarh Tehsil in Ramban district.
The flash floods triggered by the cloudburst affected multiple locations, and four bodies have been recovered so far, officials said.
Earlier on Saturday, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, along with Senior Superintendent of Police Arun Gupta, rushed to the site.
They were accompanied by personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Quick Response Team (QRT).
The flash floods resulted in the deaths of four people, with one more reportedly missing, after a cloudburst destroyed multiple residential houses in the Rajgarh area of Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, officials said.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the tragic incident and assured all possible help to the affected families.
The LG spoke with the officials to assess the situation and stated that all possible assistance was being provided to the victims.
