Google CEO Sundar Pichai touched down in the national capital on Wednesday ahead of the Global AI Impact Summit 2026. Pichai is set to deliver the keynote address at the event on 20 February. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the CEO shared, "Nice to be back in India for the AI Impact Summit - a very warm welcome as always and the papers looked great too."
Meanwhile, speaking in a special interview regarding the summit, the Prime Minister highlighted the massive influence of Artificial Intelligence on the IT industry and the government’s plans to bolster the sector. "India's IT sector has been the backbone of our services exports and a key driver of economic growth. AI presents both a tremendous opportunity and a challenge for this sector," he added. "AI market projections show India's IT sector could reach $400 billion by 2030, driven by new waves of AI-enabled outsourcing and domain-specific automation."
The India AI Impact Summit 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, runs from February 16 to 20. The gathering has brought together policymakers, industry experts, academics, and innovators from across the globe to advance critical discussions on the technology.
