The government has also expanded Common Service Centres (CSCs) to improve access to digital services in rural and remote areas. As of June 30, 4,07,122 CSCs were functional at the Gram Panchayat level, of which 70,069 were operated by women Village Level Entrepreneurs.
The centres provide a range of services, including government, banking, insurance, pension, financial and utility payment facilities.
The government said UMANG and DigiLocker are integrated with key digital public infrastructure such as Aadhaar, eSign and API Setu. The platforms support secure authentication, digital document verification and consent-based sharing.
Both services are also available in multiple Indian languages, with efforts underway to improve accessibility and user experience.
The government is promoting digital literacy through programmes such as the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (PMGDISHA), alongside awareness campaigns to encourage wider adoption.
Departments and state governments are being regularly onboarded to add more citizen-centric services and digital documents to the platforms.
