On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel performed the traditional ritual of Shastra Pujan in Gandhinagar. This event took place on Saturday and reflects the deep-rooted cultural significance of Shastra Pujan, which is a significant part of India's Dussehra celebrations. The ritual symbolises the triumph of good over evil, a theme that resonates strongly during this festive season.
In a heartfelt post on X, CM Patel shared photos from the ceremony, expressing his thoughts on the occasion. He wrote, “On the occasion of the auspicious day of Vijayadashami, Shastrapujan was performed with the security personnel of the CM Security family at Gandhinagar. Knowledge is a weapon for victory over internal enemies, while glory is also a weapon for victory against external negative forces.” His words highlighted the dual significance of knowledge and valour in overcoming challenges, both within and outside the community.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister worshipped the weapons of his security personnel, adhering to the traditional scriptural rituals. He took this opportunity to convey his best wishes to the security team on Vijayadashami, emphasising the importance of their role in maintaining safety and security.
While addressing the security personnel, CM Patel spoke about the connection between Karma Bandhan, duty, and the spiritual journey. He urged them to carry out their protective duties with diligence, stressing the need to blend sensitivity and compassion with their work. He described this approach as "true Karma Yoga," which reflects a genuine sense of duty and commitment to serving others.
The ceremony was attended by various members of the security team, including Deputy Superintendents of Police, Police Inspectors, and commandos, along with the vehicle drivers. Their participation underscored the collective effort and dedication involved in ensuring the safety of the Chief Minister and the community.
Notably, the tradition of performing Shastra Pujan on Vijay Dashami at the Chief Minister's residence was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
