On February 4, Gujarat BJP MLA Karsanbhai Solanki passed away following a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 68 years old, and his death has left a deep sense of loss among his family, colleagues, and the people he served.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his shock upon hearing the news of Solanki's passing. In a heartfelt message, Modi extended his condolences, remembering the late MLA for his simple life and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the underprivileged.

 

The Prime Minister prayed for the peace of Solanki’s soul and offered his condolences to the grieving family, saying, “The news of the demise of Shri Karsanbhai Solanki, Member of Gujarat Legislative Assembly, is shocking. He will always be remembered for his simple life and the service he rendered for the welfare of the underprivileged. Prayers for the peace of the departed soul and condolences to the bereaved family...! Om Shanti...!!”

 

Solanki, who represented the Kadi Assembly constituency in Mehsana district, had been undergoing cancer treatment at a hospital in Ahmedabad. His death came after a long battle with the illness, which he faced with resilience.

 

A family member confirmed that he passed away in the morning of February 4. Solanki's funeral rites are set to take place later that day in his native village, Nagarasan, located in the Kadi taluka.

 

The late MLA had served as a representative for the Kadi Assembly seat, a constituency that is reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates. His commitment to the people of Kadi was evident in his electoral successes.

 

Solanki had won the Kadi seat in both the 2017 and 2022 Gujarat Assembly elections, earning the trust and respect of his constituents.

 

In addition to the Prime Minister, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also expressed his sorrow at Solanki’s death. Patel shared a message on social media, conveying his heartfelt condolences.

 

"Condolences on the demise of Karsanbhai Solanki, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA of Kadi Legislative Assembly. He will always be remembered for his simple and gentle nature. May God rest his soul in peace and give strength to his family and supporters to bear this pain," said Patel.
