The Bombay High Court has given the green light for the release of the film ‘Hamare Baarah’ after the filmmakers agreed to remove two contentious dialogues from the movie. This decision comes after a petition challenged the film's release, leading to a review by a three-person committee.

Initially, the committee failed to reach a consensus, prompting dissatisfaction from the court. In response, senior advocate Rahul Narichania, representing the filmmakers, agreed to delete the objectionable dialogues to expedite the release process.

As a result, ‘Hamare Baarah’ is set to hit theatres today, June 7, featuring stellar performances from Annu Kapoor, Manoj Joshi, and Paritosh Tripathi.

Jointly produced by Birender Bhagat, Ravi S Gupta, Sanjay Nagpal, and Sheo Balak Singh, and directed by Kamal Chandra, ‘Hamare Baarah’ promises to deliver a thought-provoking narrative, focusing on a significant social issue.

However, the film has faced challenges in Karnataka, where the government has imposed a ban on its release or broadcast for two weeks, citing concerns about potential communal tension.

The decision to ban ‘Hamare Baarah’ in Karnataka aligns with the state's Cinema Regulations Act of 1964. Authorities made this ruling after receiving requests from various minority organisations and delegations, as well as after reviewing the film's trailer. Despite the ban in Karnataka, the movie was scheduled to release nationwide on June 7, 2024.

‘Hamare Baarah’ explores the theme of overpopulation, offering insights into the challenges and consequences associated with this pressing social issue. With its release now approved by the Bombay High Court, audiences can anticipate engaging with the film's impactful storytelling and powerful performances while reflecting on the broader implications of overpopulation in society.
