On October 25, 2024, the Haryana Assembly witnessed a significant event with the election of Harvinder Kalyan as the new Speaker. Kalyan, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was chosen unanimously by his peers, marking a smooth transition in leadership within the Assembly.

On this first day of the 15th Haryana Legislative Assembly, senior Congress MLA Dr. Raghubir Singh Kadian served as the pro-tem Speaker, administering the oath to 90 newly elected MLAs. This marked a new beginning for the assembly as it commenced its legislative responsibilities.
