Haryana polls: BJP releases second list of 21 candidates

The Bharatiya Janata Party released its second list of 21 candidates on Tuesday, September 10, for the Haryana Assembly elections, fielding Capt Yogesh Bairagi against the Congress' Vinesh Phogat in the Haryana assembly elections. 

 

Bairagi, 35, has actively participated in various rescue efforts, including the Vande Bharat Mission, which involved getting Indian nationals stranded abroad during Covid-19 back home.

 

He also participated in rescue and relief operations during the Chennai floods.


The candidates fielded by the BJP are Pawan Saini from Naraingarh; Jai Bhagwan Sharma from Pehowa; Satpal Jamba from Pundri; Yogender Rana from Assandh; Devender Kaushik from Ganaur; Krishna Gahlawat from Rai; and Pradeep Sangwan from Baroda.

 

Krishan Kumar Bedi will be contesting from Narwana; Baldev Singh Mangiana from Dabwali; Amir Chand Mehta from Ellenabad; and Manish Grover from Rohtak. 

 

Om Prakash Yadav is being fielded from Narnaul; Dr Krishna Kumar from Bawal; Bimla Chaudhary from Pataudi; Sanjay Singh from Nuh; Naseem Ahmed from Ferozepur Jhirka; Aizaz Khan from Punahana; Manoj Rawat from Hathin; Harinder Singh Ramrattan from Hodal and Dhanesh Adlakha from Badkhal.

 

The party released its first list of 67 candidates last week on September 4. 


Assembly elections will be held in Haryana on October 5 in a single phase and results will be declared on October 8. 

 

The last date for filing of nominations will be September 12, which will be scrutinised on September 13.

 

The BJP, which secured 40 seats in the 2019 elections, had initially formed a coalition government with the JJP, which was later dissolved.
