Hiranandani Group is being searched by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with possible FEMA violations.
Due to suspected violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), searches by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are currently taking place at ten to twelve properties connected to the Hiranandani Group.
A report claims that the ED searched four or five premises in and around Mumbai that were connected to the renowned real estate business.
Additionally, according to the sources, the action is related to FEMA costs. The TMC leader Mahua Moitra, who was recently expelled as a Lok Sabha MP, is the subject of another FEMA investigation, which they noted is vital to distinguish from this one.
Sources told us that, contrary to rumors, there is no connection between the current investigation and the earlier FEMA examination into Mahua Moitra. Prior to this, Nishikant Dubey, a BJP MP, charged Moitra with pursuing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Adani group on behalf of industrialist Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for gifts.
Dubey continued by asserting that Moitra jeopardized national security in order to make money. The person named in these accusations, Darshan Hiranandani, is the son of real estate mogul Niranjan Hiranandani.
Mahua Moitra responded to the allegations by denying any misconduct and claiming that she is the target of people since she has been investigating the economic operations of the Adani company.
