Congress leader Salman Khurshid, a member of the all-party parliamentary delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, on Sunday emphasised India’s unified and resolute stance against terrorism. Speaking during the delegation’s visit abroad, Khurshid highlighted the importance of a collective global response to combat terrorism and promote peace and prosperity worldwide.
"With one voice, India is saying, 'Terrorism no more.' We hope to foster a collective uprising against terrorism to make the world peaceful and prosperous. We can confidently say, 'Hum honge kaamyaab,'" he said.
Khurshid also explained the significance of the phrase "Hum Honge Kaamyab," which means "We shall overcome." Originally, it was a hymn composed by Reverend Charles Albert Tindley in Philadelphia in 1901. The phrase gained popularity in India through a Hindi translation by poet Girija Kumar Mathur, becoming a beloved patriotic and spiritual song widely sung in schools during the 1970s and 1980s.
Speaking about the composition of the delegation, Khurshid pointed out that it demonstrates India’s diversity and unity. Despite members belonging to different political parties, regions, and religions, the delegation stands united in unequivocally condemning terrorism.
"The message we bring is one of unity. We come from different parties, different regions, different religions, yet when it comes to the nation, to the motherland, we come together, speak with one voice. This is the message we are here to present, something we feel deeply committed to in our hearts," Khurshid said.

He further elaborated that while everyday political differences exist in India, politicians rise above these divisions when it comes to serving the nation’s interests. "Whatever news you hear about the politics of everyday India is part of the normal political process. But when it comes to serving the nation, we rise above all of that," Khurshid stated.
He also reflected on the shared sentiment among Indian soldiers who defend the country’s borders. He said, “When soldiers go to war to protect our country, they do so as Indians first, regardless of their faiths, languages, cultures, or subcultures. Their sole sentiment is to protect Mother India.”
Salman Khurshid is part of a diverse delegation currently visiting partner countries to reaffirm India’s firm resolve against cross-border terrorism and its policy of zero tolerance toward it. The delegation, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, has already visited Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore.
Other members of the delegation include BJP MPs Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, Hemang Joshi, and Aparajita Sarangi; Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee; CPI-M's John Brittas; Congress leader and former Union Minister Salman Khurshid; and Mohan Kumar. This diplomatic outreach is aimed at strengthening international cooperation against terrorism and showcasing India’s unified front in combating terror threats globally.
