The couple was unable to afford the college fees for their two daughters, despite both being outstanding students.

Hyderabad couple arrested for live-streaming explicit content to earn money amid financial crisis, say police.

In a desperate attempt to make money, a Hyderabad couple was arrested on Friday for allegedly using a mobile application to live-stream and distribute explicit videos of their sexual acts. The police claim that the couple's extreme financial hardship was the reason behind their actions.

According to investigations, the couple was having financial difficulties covering their two daughters' college tuition, despite the fact that both of them excelled academically. While the younger daughter recently achieved an impressive 468 out of 470 in her intermediate exams and is getting ready to start college, the older daughter is currently in her second year of a BTech.

The man, who drives an autorickshaw, also reportedly had severe health problems and was unable to pay for the required medical care. The couple looked into other sources of income as a result of these growing costs. On the basis of a tip, the East Zone Task Force arrested the couple from their home in Mallikarjuna Nagar, Amberpet. High-definition cameras that were used to record and stream the footage were among the equipment that police confiscated from their residence during the raid.

The police claim that the couple shared both live and recorded videos of their sex using a mobile app. Young users who purchased access to the explicit content made up the majority of their audience. A recorded clip cost ₹500, and a live session cost ₹2,000.

The profits from this illegal activity, according to officials, exceeded the man's prior income from operating an autorickshaw. Additionally, the pair wore masks during the recordings as a precaution to hide their identities.

A case has been filed in accordance with the Information Technology Act's pertinent provisions. Police have sent notices to those who bought the videos from the couple, and the investigation is still ongoing. In order to ascertain whether other people were involved in the operation, authorities are currently attempting to trace the entire distribution network.
