The Indian Air Force (IAF) is conducting a major, large-scale exercise in Rajasthan, starting tomorrow, 23 July, along the India-Pakistan border.
A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued in connection with the exercise. According to media reports, the drill will span areas between Barmer and Jodhpur, covering key stretches of the western sector.
"The exercise is scheduled to take place in Rajasthan near the International Border and is part of the IAF’s regular operational readiness drills. It could be between two or three commands of the IAF. We keep issuing NOTAM during such exercise to keep airspace cleared of any civilian aircraft,” said the official, reported media.

Frontline fighter jets such as the Rafale, Mirage 2000, and Sukhoi-30 aircraft, as well as air defence and support systems, will be part of the rigorous exercise. The exercise will also focus on being ready for operations at night.
The exercise coincides with increased border security between India and Pakistan, where the Indian Air Force is concentrating on improving air defence capabilities and strategic readiness.
