IMA Dehradun holds Passing Out Parade for Spring Term 2025

The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, who served as the Reviewing Officer for the ceremony.

The Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, hosted the Passing Out Parade (POP) for the Spring Term 2025 on Saturday, marking a proud and momentous occasion for the newly commissioned officers.


The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, who served as the Reviewing Officer for the ceremony. During the event, Lt Gen Rodrigo presented medals and accolades to outstanding officer cadets in recognition of their excellence in training and performance.


Among the top honours, the prestigious Sword of Honour was awarded to Academy Cadet Adjutant Anni Nehra for demonstrating exemplary leadership and overall excellence. In addition, Nehra also received the Silver Medal for securing the second position in the overall Order of Merit. The Gold Medal, awarded to the officer cadet who stood first in the overall Order of Merit, was presented to Academy Under Officer Ronit Ranjan Nayak. The Bronze Medal for third position went to Battalion Under Officer Anurag Verma.

Special recognition was also given to cadets from technical entry streams. The Silver Medal for the top cadet in the Technical Graduate Course was awarded to Sergeant Akash Bhadouriya, while the Silver Medal for the highest-ranking cadet from the Technical Entry Scheme (TES-45) went to Wing Cadet Quarter Master Kapil.


From among the foreign cadets, Officer Cadet Nishan Balami of Nepal was honoured with a medal for standing first in the Order of Merit among foreign trainees. In the company rankings, Keren Company earned the Chief of Army Staff Banner, having emerged as the best-performing company among the 12 companies for the Spring Term 2025.


A total of 451 cadets, including 419 Indian cadets and 32 cadets from friendly foreign countries, participated in the Passing Out Parade. These newly commissioned officers will now go on to serve in their respective national armies. The Indian Military Academy, established on 1 October 1932, has a distinguished legacy of producing over 65,000 officers, including cadets from 34 friendly nations, since its inception.

Agniveer POP held at Army Air Defence Centre, Gopalpur


In a separate ceremony on June 5, the Army Air Defence Centre in Gopalpur conducted the Passing Out Parade for the fifth batch of Agniveers. The parade was reviewed by Brigadier Hemant Singh, Commandant of the Centre, who congratulated 401 Agniveers on the successful completion of their training.


Brigadier Singh commended the Agniveers for their discipline and dedication, highlighting the importance of drill as the foundation of military ethos. “A soldier's discipline is forged on the drill square. The precision and synchronisation displayed today are a reflection of your commitment and the high standards set by the Army Air Defence Centre,” he remarked.


The ceremony featured an impressive drill performance, demonstrating the rigorous training and high standards maintained at the centre.
