India Issues Warning for UK Travelers Amid Violent Protests.

The Indian High Commission in London has issued a travel advisory urging Indian nationals to exercise caution and stay vigilant due to the ongoing violent protests across the UK. These disturbances were triggered by a tragic event in Southport, where three young girls were fatally stabbed during a dance workshop.

The advisory from the High Commission emphasises the importance of following local news and adhering to guidance from security agencies. It recommends avoiding areas where protests are occurring to ensure personal safety.

The protests began after the stabbing incident in Southport and quickly escalated. Reports indicate that the violence has spread to various parts of the UK, including attacks on mosques and hotels housing asylum seekers. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has condemned the violence, attributing it to far-right agitators and misinformation spread via social media. He has pledged to take strong action against those responsible.

Since the unrest began, nearly 400 people have been arrested. The violent clashes have seen a significant escalation, with rioters targeting places of worship and businesses. In Belfast, Northern Ireland, the situation has also deteriorated, with a supermarket set ablaze and police facing violent protests.

In light of these developments, the Indian High Commission continues to monitor the situation closely, advising all Indian travellers to be cautious and stay informed about the evolving circumstances.
