INDIA Bloc Sets Strategy for Monsoon Session Sindoor Talk.

The floor leaders of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc on Monday held a meeting to finalise their strategy for the second week of the monsoon session of Parliament, with a focus on raising key issues and coordinating their approach as the Lok Sabha prepares for a marathon debate on Operation Sindoor.

The Lok Sabha is scheduled to hold a 16-hour-long special discussion on Operation Sindoor today, which marks India’s military response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju appealed to the opposition parties not to use language that mirrors the rhetoric of Pakistan while debating the operation.

He said the opposition, especially the Congress, must ensure that their statements do not harm India’s national interests or undermine the dignity of the armed forces.

“I request the opposition, especially the Congress, not to do anything to harm India’s interests and not speak Pakistan’s language. We have to be mindful. We have to maintain the dignity of the Indian armed forces,” Rijiju told the media ahead of the discussion.

He stressed that remarks made by the opposition inside Parliament should not provide ammunition to India’s adversaries. “The Congress and the Opposition should not say anything that could harm the national interests. Whatever they speak against India is used by the Pakistanis and India’s enemies outside,” he said.

Rijiju added that it was the people’s wish that the Prime Minister ordered Operation Sindoor through the Indian Army in response to the deadly terror attack.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to address the House around noon during the special discussion. The Lok Sabha’s list of business for Monday includes the “Special Discussion on India’s strong, successful and decisive ‘Operation Sindoor’ in response to terrorist attack in Pahalgam”.

On April 22, twenty-six civilians were killed in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in a brutal terror attack. India retaliated with precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting terror camps and infrastructure inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The monsoon session, which began on July 21, has so far witnessed repeated adjournments amid uproar over the opposition’s demand for a debate on critical national issues, including the Pahalgam terror attack and the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar ahead of state polls.

The opposition has also insisted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should address the House on US President Donald Trump’s repeated claims of having mediated a “ceasefire” between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor.
