Members of the INDIA bloc staged a protest inside the Parliament complex on Monday, demanding a joint parliamentary probe into the ongoing Adani issue.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, along with MPs from other opposition parties, stood outside Parliament’s Makar Dwar, chanting slogans of "Modi, Adani ek hain" and "We want justice."
However, the Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party, and Aam Aadmi Party did not participate in the protest, with the BJP accusing the INDIA bloc of disintegration.
Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav dismissed these claims, asserting that "all is well" within the opposition alliance.
MPs from the Left, DMK, Shiv Sena (UBT), RJD, and NCP were present, raising their voices for a discussion and probe into the Adani Group.
The protest was held in front of the Samvidhan Sadan, following an advisory by the Lok Sabha Secretariat discouraging demonstrations on the steps leading to Parliament.
Opposition protests regarding the Adani issue have been ongoing in the Parliament complex since the commencement of the winter session.
The Congress, alongside some other opposition parties, has been pushing for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the matter following the indictment of Adani and other company officials in a US court.
Congress claims that the indictment "vindicates" their demand for a JPC investigation into the alleged "scams" involving the Adani conglomerate.
Rahul Gandhi has called for the immediate arrest of Adani.
The Adani Group has categorically dismissed the allegations, labelling them as "baseless."
