The eleventh edition of the annual Indo-Sri Lanka joint Exercise Mitra Shakti started. The opening ceremony of the same was held at the Foreign Training Node, Belagavi.
The exercise will be conducted from 10 to 23 November 2025. The aim of the exercise is to enhance joint drills' synergy and cooperation.
“Focused on joint tactical drills and sub-conventional operations under the UN mandate, the exercise underscores the enduring defence partnership, interoperability, and mutual trust between the #IndianArmy and the #SriLankaArmy. 'Strengthening bonds. Enhancing synergy’, said the Indian Army in a post on X.
Earlier this year, India and Sri Lanka have signed a five-year Defence Cooperation MoU to provide a formal framework for existing efforts, including joint exercises, capacity building, and maritime cooperation.
