The Indian team on Thursday clinched four gold medals and one silver at the 18th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA), showcasing exceptional talent on the global stage.
The Olympiad, hosted for the first time in India, brought together nearly 300 high-school students from 64 countries, including 12 nations participating for the first time. The event provided a platform for young science enthusiasts to demonstrate their skills in astronomy and astrophysics.
The Indian contingent, trained under the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), a national centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), excelled across multiple challenges, earning accolades for their analytical and observational skills.
