India unites in ‘Namo Yuva Run’ to promote fitness, patriotism

People take part in the 'NaMo Yuva Run' on Sunday.


A series of 'Namo Yuva Run' events were held across India on Sunday as part of the two-week 'Seva Pakhwada' programme, celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday. The runs were primarily organised in BJP-ruled states, including Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

 

In Delhi, prominent figures such as Union Minister of State Raj Bhushan Chaudhary, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Manoj Tiwari, BJP National Secretary Alka Gurjar, and Delhi BJP Yuva Morcha President Sagar Tyagi took part in the run, which was flagged off by Chaudhary and Tiwari.

Mumbai's event saw participation from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, actor Milind Soman, and BJP MP Tejasvi Surya.

In Agra, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya flagged off the run at the Eklavya Sports Stadium. He said that the "Namo Marathon" was aimed at promoting several notions— drug-free India, a developed India, One Nation, One Election, and a globally leading India.

Chief Ministers of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, and Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, also participated in the runs in their respective states. Saini flagged off the marathon in Kurukshetra, calling it an "important step towards building a bright future for the youth." Dhami, in Dehradun, not only flagged off the event but also ran with the participants.

The event also saw the participation of Chief Ministers from Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, and Tripura, Manik Saha, who both ran with the youth in Bhubaneswar and Agartala, respectively.

In Jaipur, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma flagged off the 'Namo Yuva Daur' marathon. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who attended the event in Jodhpur, said that the run was a pledge by the entire nation to honour the Prime Minister's vision and long life dedicated to service and honesty.

In Gujarat, the run was held in Ahmedabad and flagged off by Gujarat Health Minister Rishikesh Patel, who encouraged young people to give up addiction.

In Jamshedpur, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha organised a five-kilometre marathon to promote fitness and national service. The event was flagged off by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, who stated that such events unite young people and inspire them to lead healthy and disciplined lives. The winners were awarded medals and certificates.
