The Indian Navy has been actively involved in providing relief operations in Gujarat due to the severe flooding caused by incessant rains. In response to requests from the local administration, the Navy has deployed flood relief teams from Porbandar and Jamnagar to assist in the ongoing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) efforts.
Two rescue teams from Porbandar, equipped with specialised gear, were sent to the villages of Morana and Fatana. These teams played a crucial role in evacuating villagers to safer locations, ensuring their safety amidst the rising floodwaters.
Meanwhile, rescue teams from Jamnagar were deployed near Bedi Marine Police Station and in Jamnagar town. They successfully evacuated 50 elderly residents who were at risk due to the flooding.
In addition to the deployed teams, the Navy has kept additional rescue teams on standby. These teams, equipped with necessary gear, are ready to provide further assistance as the situation demands.
The Navy's proactive involvement highlights its commitment to supporting the local administration and ensuring the safety of the affected population during this natural calamity.

Amidst these weather conditions, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel took immediate action to ensure the state's preparedness for the natural disaster. After arriving at the Gandhinagar State Emergency Operation Center from Vadodara, the Chief Minister reviewed the state's disaster management system.
During a video conference with District Collectors, he assessed the readiness of various departments and issued immediate instructions for evacuations to protect residents from the impending calamity. Chief Secretary Rajkumar and other senior secretaries were also present during the meeting, underscoring the state's comprehensive approach to handling the crisis.
Gujarat has been grappling with heavy rainfall over the past few days, leading to severe flooding in several parts of the state. The floods have displaced hundreds of residents, forcing them to seek refuge in safer locations.
