The search is on for Saketh Sreenivasaiah, a 22-year-old Indian student of the University of California, Berkeley, who has been missing since February 9. Saketh was last seen in the vicinity of Lake Anza in the Berkeley hills. The Consulate General of India in San Francisco has expressed concern over the missing Indian student and is trying to get his location. They are also in touch with his family in Karnataka.
His roommate, Baneet Singh, took to LinkedIn to plea for assistance, urging anyone in the area who may have seen Sreenivasaiah to come forward with information.
Singh mentioned he is working intensely with the police department during this incredibly difficult time. According to his professional profile, Sreenivasaiah recently graduated from IIT-Madras in 2025 with a degree in Chemical Engineering before moving to Berkeley to pursue his master's in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
The Berkeley Police Department has released a description of the student, noting he is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.
