IndiGo airlines announced on Friday the introduction of direct flights connecting Bengaluru and Riyadh, with operations commencing on November 16, as detailed in an official statement issued by the airline.

The airline will deploy its Airbus A320 aircraft for this newly established route, focusing on providing cost-effective and uninterrupted travel options for passengers, according to the statement.

Riyadh becomes the second destination in Saudi Arabia to receive direct flights from Bengaluru, India's prominent technology center, following the existing connection to Jeddah. At present, IndiGo links India to four major cities in Saudi Arabia, namely Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, and Madinah, in addition to an expanding array of routes throughout the Middle East.

The incorporation of the Bengaluru-Riyadh service bolsters IndiGo's footprint in the area. This development aligns with the rising needs fuelled by corporate travel, commercial exchanges, labour mobility, and leisure tourism linking India and the Middle East, the statement further noted.

"As Saudi Arabia's capital and a key hub for trade and investment, Riyadh is significant for IndiGo to strengthen air connectivity with India. This new route from Bengaluru marks IndiGo's fourth non-stop connection to Riyadh, after Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. It will enhance accessibility for business and workforce from the region while reinforcing IndiGo's growing network across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. With this launch, we continue our focus on expanding international connectivity and making travel more convenient," said Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo's head of sales.

As per the timetable disclosed by the airline, flight 6E 0053 from Bengaluru to Riyadh will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, departing at 22:05 from Bengaluru starting November 16 and on the corresponding days thereafter.

For the return leg, flight 6E 0054 will run from Riyadh to Bengaluru on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with a departure time of 2:00 and arrival in Bengaluru at 9:15 in the morning.

IndiGo maintains a fleet exceeding 400 aircraft and conducts more than 2200 daily flights, serving over 90 domestic destinations and more than 40 international locations. The airline added 58 aircraft to its operations in 2024 and served over 118 million passengers in FY25.
