IndiGo flights out of Delhi’s IGI Airport faced significant delays on Tuesday due to heavy air traffic congestion over the national capital.
Flight-tracking data showed that multiple domestic routes were affected. Real-time figures indicated the IndiGo flight to Mumbai was delayed by 25 minutes, while the Patna bound flight faced a delay of over an hour. Further delays are also expected for flights heading to Amritsar, Pune, Kolkata, and Lucknow.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the airline said both the arriving and departing passengers were expected to face delays due to air traffic congestion.
"Due to air traffic congestion in Delhi, flight operations are currently impacted. We understand that extended wait times, both on the ground and onboard, may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience," Indigo said in a statement.
"For the most up-to-date flight information, we recommend checking our website or mobile app. Our crew and on-ground teams are there to support you and ensure your wait is as comfortable as possible," the statement added.
