An IndiGo flight 6E-1234 en route from Kuwait to Hyderabad was forced to make an emergency diversion and landed safely at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport after a bomb threat was received, officials confirmed.
The threat was sent via email to Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, prompting authorities to immediately reroute the aircraft to Mumbai as a precautionary measure. Upon landing, the plane was towed to an isolated bay for extensive security screening and checks.
All passengers and crew members are safe. Mumbai Police, CISF, and airline officials are working alongside bomb detection and disposal squads to investigate the threat and complete mandatory protocols.
Further details regarding the nature of the threat and the ongoing inspection are awaited.
