CM Dr Mohan Yadav Lauds Indore's Record Breaking Plantation Drive.

Indore, Madhya Pradesh's largest city, has once again set a benchmark, this time by planting over 11 lakh saplings within a single day. This monumental effort not only strengthens Indore’s reputation as the cleanest city in India but also showcases its commitment to environmental sustainability.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav proudly received the official certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records, marking this extraordinary achievement. He praised the collective effort of the citizens, noting that the event symbolises Indore's dedication to environmental conservation.

In a post on X, CM Yadav expressed his elation, stating, “Indore is now number one in the world. Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to my brothers and sisters of Indore for creating history on the plantation following our achievements in cleanliness. Thanks to your participation, Indore, the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh and the cleanest city in our country, has set a world record by planting more than 11 lakh saplings in a single day.”

He also acknowledged the inspiration drawn from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the honourable presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah during the event. This achievement, he added, sends a powerful message of nature conservation and dedicated service to Mother Earth.

Nishchal Barot, a consultant for Guinness World Records, highlighted the significance of the event by comparing it to the previous record held by Assam, where 926,000 saplings were planted in a single day.

He explained, “The title of this Guinness World Record is ‘Most trees planted by a team within 24 hours’. We started this record on July 13 at 7:03 pm, and it continued until today at 7:03 pm. The good thing is that Indore broke the old record at 5:00 pm. Assam held the old record for planting 926,000 saplings in 24 hours. The numbers will be released later. However, we have handed the certificate of the new world record to CM Mohan Yadav.”

The plantation drive took place at the Revati Range, which was meticulously divided into nine zones and 100 sub-zones to efficiently manage the massive undertaking. The event was monitored with the help of 100 cameras, ensuring every detail was captured and verified. The preparation for this drive took around 46 days, showcasing the immense effort and dedication of the organisers.

Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava played key roles in the successful execution of this initiative. Prior to the event, Minister Vijayvargiya held a press conference to outline the preparations and share the vision behind the mega plantation drive.

Congratulatory messages poured in from various quarters. Urban Administration Minister Vijayvargiya and Mayor Bhargava lauded the citizens of Indore, as well as the BSF soldiers and over 200 social, educational, religious, and business organisations that actively participated in the drive.

“The vision for planting 11 lakh saplings was conceived on May 27. After 46 days of hard work and a dedicated team, we have reached this significant milestone today,” Vijayvargiya said, emphasising the collaborative effort that went into achieving this remarkable feat.

This record-breaking event not only highlights Indore's dedication to environmental causes but also sets a precedent for other cities and states to follow. The successful plantation drive serves as a reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared vision and commitment to a sustainable future.

As Indore basks in the glory of this new world record, the city continues to inspire others with its innovative and effective approaches to environmental conservation and urban management.

The planting of over 11 lakh saplings in a single day is a testament to the city's unwavering dedication to preserving the environment and creating a greener, healthier world for future generations.
