Investigation underway after bomb threat hoax in Indore schools.

In a distressing turn of events, two private schools in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, received a hoax bomb threat on Tuesday.

The threat, which came in the form of an email, raised alarm, prompting swift action by the authorities to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Police, along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), rushed to the two affected schools—New Digamber Public School (NDPS) and Indore Public School (IPS)—to investigate the situation.

Upon receiving the threat, the police acted promptly. They evacuated the students from both school premises and initiated a thorough search of the buildings and surrounding areas.

Despite their best efforts, no suspicious items or evidence were found. The swift response, however, brought some comfort to anxious parents and school authorities.

Following the investigation, the police registered two First Information Reports (FIRs) at different police stations in the district and initiated further inquiries into the source of the threat.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP, Zone 1) Vinod Kumar Meena confirmed the details of the situation. Speaking to ANI, he explained that the bomb threat email was received at around 10 a.m.

The contents of the email suggested the presence of a "human bomb" intended to cause an explosion at both school buildings. In response, the authorities acted decisively, evacuating the students, and conducting an exhaustive search of the premises.

Despite the serious nature of the threat, no explosives or dangerous materials were discovered. The police have registered FIRs at Tejaji Nagar and Rajendra Nagar police stations and have commenced further investigations into the matter.

Principal Winston Gomez of New Digamber Public School addressed the media, explaining the sequence of events. The email, which was sent at around 6 a.m., indicated a bomb threat to both NDPS and IPS.

However, it was not until approximately 9:30 a.m., when he typically checks emails, that Gomez saw the alarming message.

Upon reading the email, the school immediately took action, evacuating the students and moving them to an open field. The school also notified the police and informed the staff at Indore Public School about the potential danger.

In addition to the evacuation, the school made a decision to send students from Nursery to 8th grade back home as a safety measure. Meanwhile, students in higher grades (9th to 12th) remained in the open field, where they were kept safe from any potential danger.

Due to the situation, the scheduled CBSE practical exams were postponed to the following day. Parents were also promptly informed about the incident, and their children were sent home early.
