INS Kadmatt made a goodwill port call at the Port of Suva in Fiji, where India and Fiji discussed maritime security cooperation, capacity development, and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR). The visit aims to further strengthen maritime ties between the two nations.
A goodwill port call is often referred to as a courtesy visit when a naval or merchant vessel visits a foreign port to strengthen the bilateral relations.
“Professional exchanges with the Republic of Fiji Navy, community outreach and cultural events aim to further deepen India-Fiji friendship and strengthen regional cooperation,” the official X handle of Indian Navy spokesperson wrote.
The medical team of the INS Kadmatt, RFMF & MIOT Hospital came together, providing free health services to the general public.
Informing about the initiative, the High Commission of India in Fiji wrote on its official X handle, “In the spirit of Veilomani–Dosti, the INS Kadmatt Medical Team, RFMF Medical Team & MIOT Hospital joined hands to deliver free health services to the public today at Albert Park, Suva.”
“Fiji & India share a common vision for the Blue Pacific as an Ocean of Peace. At the INS Kadmatt reception, the enduring friendship & partnership between our nations was celebrated—built on trust, peace & sustainable development,” said the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji, Biman Prasad.
