The Bharatiya Janata Party has raised questions regarding recent Income Tax raids on entities associated with Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu in Jharkhand and Odisha.

The Income Tax department's raid on Odisha-based Boudh Distillery Private Limited, starting on December 6, has resulted in the seizure of unaccounted cash totaling ₹300 crore, expected to exceed ₹350 crore.

This development has provided the BJP with additional ammunition to criticize the Congress, and party chief JP Nadda, citing a news report, took to X to convey a message to Rahul Gandhi, stating, “Brother, both you and your leader Rahul Gandhi will have to answer. This is the new India, here people will not be allowed to be exploited in the name of the royal family. You will get tired running, but the law will not leave you.\"

Union minister G Kishan Reddy also questioned Rahul Gandhi's silence on the Income Tax searches against Dhiraj Sahu, and BJP MP K Laxman emphasized the need for an explanation from the Gandhis.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan criticized the Congress, saying, “Congress has to answer when one of its MPs has been raided. They need to tell who this black money belongs to. This is a worrisome matter.\"

Union minister Meenakshi Lekhi pointed out the significance of the cash seized from Sahu, labeling it as the largest haul from corrupt individuals, and BJP leader Amit Malviya accused Rahul Gandhi of uniting the \"thieves of India\" during his 'Bharat Jodo Yatra.' Malviya also connected the recovery of nearly ₹300 crore from Dhiraj Sahu's locations to the Congress being the 'Corruption Ki Dukan.'

In response, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh asserted that the party has no connection to Dhiraj Sahu's businesses and emphasized that only Sahu can explain the substantial amounts of cash reportedly found by the income-tax authorities at his properties.
