A total of 11 candidates from the Jammu and Kashmir UT managed to crack the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) data most prestigious examination in the country after results were declared on Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by the Commission, a total of 1016 candidates qualified for the exam.
Aditya Srivastava from Uttar Pradesh secured the top rank followed by Animesh Pradhan from Odisha in second place, and Donuru Ananya Reddy from Telangana in third.
Anmol Rathore (24), from the Udrana Village of Bhaderwah town in Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir, was among the top 10 candidates as she secured an inspiring 7th rank.
Anmol, ecstatic by the outcome told reporters, “I never imagined my name would be in the top ten. It was the hard effort that has paid off.”
She attributed her achievement to the Almighty, her parents, her peers, and the internet venues she employed to accomplish the feat.
Arjun Gupta, the son of Dr Chander Shekhar Gupta and Bandana Gupta and a native of Ramkote Tehsil in Kathua District, is one of the other candidates who made the region proud by achieving an amazing All India Rank (AIR) 32.
He had topped the Indian Economic Services (IES) exam in the year 2022.
Manan Bhat, a resident of Srinagar District and a prior UPSC qualifier with All India Rank 231 has got All India Rank (AIR) 88 this year.
Manan is now assigned to the Telangana cadre of the Indian Police Service and has qualified for the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination.
Harnit Singh Sudan, a resident of Jammu District, secured AIR 177. Mohammad Haris Mir from Kashmir got AIR 345.
Mohammad Farhan Seh, an engineering graduate from Dooru in Anantnag District, is a JKPS officer and DySP with the AIR 369 CID branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Aparajita Aryan from Jammu District has AIR 381, Dr Ghulam Maya Din from Gambhir Mughlan-Rajouri has AIR 388, Suvan Sharma from Maheshpura, Bakshi Nagar has AIR 412, Seerat Baji has AIR 516, and Dinesh Kumar has AIR 1003.
Seerat Baji, daughter of Baji Mushtaq of Kotranka, Rajouri, is also an under-training JKPS officer.
Suvan Sharma, son of Dr. T.R Raina, former HoD Blood Bank, GMC Jammu, and Nirmal Sharma, a retired IAS officer, were among the candidates who qualified for the prestigious examinations.
Meanwhile, LG Manoj Sinha took to X and wrote, "Congratulations to Anmol Rathore (AIR 7) and other J&K aspirants who cleared UPSC CSE-2023. Your extraordinary achievements will encourage the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Commission has granted provisional status to 355 additional candidates.
