Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday directed officials to deploy the "full spectrum of counter-terror resources," while taking stock of the prevailing security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and other officials attended the meeting chaired by Modi, who also discussed with Home Minister Amit Shah the deployment of security forces and counter-terror operations, official sources said.

Modi also spoke with Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to get an on-the-ground perspective. Sinha briefed him on the efforts being undertaken by the local administration to restore safety and security in the region.

The PM was given a comprehensive overview of the security situation and was apprised of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.

"The PM asked them to deploy the full spectrum of our counter-terrorism capabilities," an official source said.

The recent spate of attacks has deeply affected the community. Terrorists struck at four locations in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda districts, killing nine pilgrims and a CRPF Jawan, and injuring seven security personnel and several others.

Two suspected Pakistani terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kathua, where a large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered.

On Sunday, terrorists opened fire on a 53-seater bus carrying pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.

The bus, carrying pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi, plunged into a deep gorge following gunfire, resulting in nine deaths and 41 injuries.

Survivors recall the terror and chaos, with one pilgrim from Delhi describing the scene as "a nightmare we could never imagine."

On Tuesday, terrorists fired at a joint checkpoint of the 4 Rashtriya Rifles and police at Chattergalla in Baderwah.

A search party in Gandoh was attacked on Wednesday, injuring seven security personnel, including a policeman.

These incidents have left the local community in fear and mourning, with the families of the victims calling for peace and justice.

In response, police have intensified efforts, releasing sketches of the terrorists involved and announcing rewards for information leading to their arrest.
