Jharkhand ATS issues alert after terrorist training report.

The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Jharkhand has issued an alert to all Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) following revelations of terrorist training conducted by a Bangladeshi national in Pakur district of the state.

Sources said that the ATS has issued the alert, stating that after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh, banned organisations there are hatching anti-India terrorist conspiracies.

As part of the conspiracy, some terrorists entered Jharkhand from Bangladesh and later returned after providing training to certain individuals in Pakur.

Jharkhand ATS has received intelligence that Jamat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terrorist Abdul Mammun crossed the border from Bangladesh and reached Pakur district of Jharkhand via Dhuliyan in Murshidabad.

According to the ATS, Mammun held a meeting with members of an organisation called JAHA and provided terrorist training to several cadres before returning to Bangladesh.

The ATS is currently investigating the case and has alerted SPs and DIGs across all districts to take necessary action after gathering confidential information.

The ATS has received information that Abdul Mammun is a resident of Gopinathpur area of Satkhira in Bangladesh.

He illegally crossed the border and reached Pakur on 6 January, where he trained 15 members of JAHA-India.

Sources said that ATS has learnt about a meeting between JAHA-India and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen members, which took place at the Islamic Dawa Centre in Dubrajpur, Pakur. Following a one-day training session, Mammun returned to Bangladesh via Dhuliyan.

ATS intelligence suggests that several individuals from Jalangi in Murshidabad also participated in the meeting.

Notably, the banned terrorist organisation JMB has previously been active in Sahibganj and Pakur within the Santhal Pargana region. ATS had earlier gathered information about suspects and overground workers linked to this organisation.
