Union Minister JP Nadda and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel kick-started the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Rajkot, Gujarat, ahead of India's 78th Independence Day. This event, part of the larger ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, is designed to inspire patriotism across the nation by encouraging citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes, shops, and offices.

At the public gathering in Rajkot, Nadda highlighted Gujarat's significant role in India's struggle for independence. He honoured the contributions of Mahatma Gandhi, a key figure in the fight for freedom, who hailed from Gujarat. Nadda expressed pride in the state's historical connection to Gandhi, emphasising how deeply intertwined the state's legacy is with the country's independence movement.

Nadda also paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, another prominent figure from Gujarat, who played a crucial role in uniting India’s princely states into a single nation after independence.

The Minister drew parallels between Patel's efforts and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India). He noted that PM Modi, also from Gujarat, has continued the legacy of leadership and dedication that the state is known for.

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, initiated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), encourages citizens to display the tricolour as a symbol of national pride and unity.

The campaign also includes a cleanliness drive, aligning with the broader goals of national improvement and patriotism. The government’s call to action has resonated widely, with the campaign gaining momentum as Independence Day approaches.

Prime Minister Modi, in his 112th ‘Mann Ki Baat’ broadcast, urged citizens to participate actively in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. He encouraged people to take selfies with the national flag and share them on social media to spread the message of patriotism.

Modi emphasised the importance of this campaign as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a celebration marking 75 years of Indian independence.

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative, which started in 2021, has grown into a significant national movement. It aims to evoke a sense of pride and patriotism in every Indian, by making the national flag a visible symbol of independence and unity.

The campaign reflects a collective effort to honour the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and to keep the spirit of independence alive in the hearts of all Indians.

As the nation prepares to celebrate its 78th Independence Day, the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ and the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign are set to reinforce the deep sense of national pride and unity.

By bringing the tricolour into every home, shop, and office, the campaign seeks to remind all Indians of the values that the flag represents and the shared responsibility of preserving the nation’s independence and sovereignty.
