Former Karnataka Minister and Holenarasipur JD(S) MLA HD Revanna, whose son Prajwal is facing sexual abuse allegations, was taken into custody on Saturday, police said.

A Special Investigation Team arrested him after a court rejected his anticipatory bail plea.

He is also facing sexual abuse allegations.

The People’s Representative Court denied anticipatory bail to the former minister, Revanna, who was found at the residence of the former Prime Minister and his father, HD Deve Gowda, in Bengaluru.

He was booked in a kidnapping case on Thursday after a 20-year-old man filed a police complaint alleging that Revanna’s associate abducted his mother, who was among the many women featured in the alleged sex tapes of his son Prajwal.

According to police, the woman has been traced to Hunsur, and they are currently collecting information from her. The police have sent Satish Babu alias Satish Babanna, an accused in the kidnap case, to 14 days of judicial custody.
