The delegation scheduled to travel to Sweden and Spain on 18 April under the leadership of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has received political clearance from the Central Government.

The objective of the tour is to attract investments while also promoting technology in the sectors of mining, steel, and electric vehicles, as well as identifying partnerships in green technology.

The delegation is also expected to explore investment opportunities for industrial areas in Adityapur, Bokaro, and Santhal Pargana, in addition to learning best practices in mine reclamation and clean energy initiatives. These efforts aim to present attractive prospects to European investors.

To organise the tour, ₹3.5 crore plus GST will be allocated to an event management company based in Pune. An additional ₹25 lakh will be spent on incidental, daily, and other miscellaneous expenses.

In total, ₹3.75 crore plus GST will be spent on the tour. The team will visit Sweden and Spain from 19 to 27 April.

The Industry Department has outlined the purpose of the visit, noting that Jharkhand possesses a wide range of mineral resources, including some rare minerals. Jamshedpur occupies a unique position in the automobile sector.

There is considerable potential in the food processing industry in the region. Moreover, the state holds promise in electric vehicles, wind energy, and solar energy. The department has highlighted that Spain currently generates 56 per cent of its energy from wind and solar sources.
