The Government of Jharkhand will provide ₹1 lakh assistance each to the kin of people who lost their lives and ₹20,000 each to injured persons in the horrific bus accident near Jamunia Chowk in Mohanpur block on Tuesday morning.
Jharkhand Health Minister Dr Irfan Ansari and Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Naman Priyash Lakra visited Sadar Hospital and Deoghar AIIMS to meet the injured. They met the devotees admitted to the hospital and enquired about their well-being.
Dr Ansari said that a total of six devotees, including the bus driver, have died in the accident, while 24 people have been injured. Out of these, eight devotees are being treated at Deoghar AIIMS.
The minister said that all the injured are being treated completely free of charge. Investigations, medicines and all medical facilities are being provided free of cost.
He said that the families of the deceased will be given an assistance amount of ₹1 lakh from the Disaster Management Fund and the injured will be given Rs 20,000 from the Baba Mandir Kalyan Fund.
Along with this, the district administration will also make arrangements to transport the injured and the dead to their homes.
The minister and the deputy commissioner instructed Civil Surgeon Dr Yugal Kishore Chaudhary and AIIMS Director Dr Saurabh that no laxity should be shown in the treatment of all the injured.
The devotees involved in the bus accident were travelling to Deoghar to attend the Shravani fair. The bus went out of control and collided with a lorry at the roadside, causing the accident.
