Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party of diverting public attention from the issue, Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari on Wednesday held Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah responsible for the recent terror attacks in Pahalgam, Kashmir.
Speaking to the media, the Congress MLA alleged that the BJP was trying to distract from the real issue. “The person who committed the act has no caste or religion. The matter is being blown out of proportion unnecessarily,” he said.
“The Prime Minister should accept responsibility, as such incidents have taken place during his tenure. Where were you? You were abroad, asleep. Every time you go abroad, such incidents occur. Modi is responsible for this incident, Amit Shah is responsible,” Ansari remarked.
He further stated that the situation in Kashmir had been improving, with people earning livelihoods, tourists visiting, and children pursuing their education. “After six years, tourists had started returning. The loss suffered by the people there must also be taken into account,” he added.
The Minister said the Congress strongly condemns the attack and described it as a shameful act against humanity. “Whenever the Prime Minister travels abroad, such incidents tend to happen,” he reiterated.
“Where has the 56-inch chest gone?” he asked, calling for strict action against Pakistan. He also said that Rahul Gandhi would stand with the Prime Minister on this matter.
