More Maoists Killed in an Joint Op in Chhattisgarh.

In a significant development in the ongoing battle against left-wing extremism, security forces have achieved a crucial victory in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur-Kanker Border area.

A joint operation conducted by the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) resulted in the elimination of 10 Maoists, including three female members, in an encounter on Tuesday.

The operation was part of efforts to tackle Maoist activities in the dense forests of Abujmarh, situated on the border of Narayanpur and Kanker districts. Security personnel, acting on intelligence reports, had mobilised to confront the Maoist insurgents.

The encounter, which unfolded at around 6 am, saw an intense exchange of fire between the joint security team and the Maoist rebels. The skirmish lasted for several hours, culminating in the successful neutralisation of the Maoist threat.

Subsequent search operations in the area led to the recovery of bodies of the slain Maoist cadres, including three female members. The identities of the deceased are currently being established by the authorities.

In addition to the casualties suffered by the Maoists, security forces also seized a significant quantity of weapons during the operation. Among the weapons recovered from the encounter site was an AK-47 rifle, highlighting the intensity and scale of the confrontation.

This latest success comes as a major boost to the efforts of security forces in combating left-wing extremism in the region. It follows a similar operation on April 17, where security forces thwarted a planned attack by neutralising 29 Naxals.

The operation, undertaken based on actionable intelligence, prevented potential disruptions during the elections and dealt a significant blow to the Naxal insurgency.

The Chhattisgarh Police, along with central paramilitary forces, have been engaged in sustained efforts to counter Maoist activities in the state. The recent encounters underscore the determination of security forces to root out extremism and maintain law and order in the region.

As the security situation continues to evolve, authorities remain vigilant and committed to ensuring the safety and security of the local population. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story as investigations into the encounter progress and additional details emerge.
