Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday assured that justice would be delivered in the case of a 17-year-old boy, Kunal, who was fatally attacked with knives in the J block of Seelampur. Gupta also stated that she had spoken directly with the Police Commissioner regarding the incident.

Kunal was rushed to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Gupta confirmed that an FIR had been registered in the murder case and said police were actively pursuing the suspects. She assured the public that the accused would be arrested soon and justice would be served.

Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva appealed for calm, urging residents of Seelampur to maintain peace amid rising tensions. He stated that in recent cases, police had successfully arrested criminals, and this case would be no different. The suspects, he said, had already been identified and would soon be in custody.

Joint Commissioner of Police (East) Pushpendra Kumar confirmed that the murder occurred on Thursday and that the suspects were locals from the same area.

He revealed that two individuals had been identified as prime suspects and that police teams were working around the clock to apprehend them. Kumar also noted that if any further involvement is discovered, additional arrests would be made.

Meanwhile, the victim’s mother expressed deep anguish, alleging that the police had failed to keep her informed and allowed the accused to flee. She claimed her son had been involved in a previous altercation and had received threats.

On the evening of the incident, he had gone out to buy food after asking for a samosa and milk. Within 15 minutes, the family received the news of his stabbing. She also alleged that the doctor who treated her son was beaten up by unknown individuals.

The murder sparked widespread protests in the Seelampur area. Locals gathered in large numbers, blocking roads and demanding justice for the boy. Demonstrators carried signs and shouted slogans, with many calling on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help and demanding a stricter law and order approach similar to the 'Yogi model' in Uttar Pradesh.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast), Sandeep Lamba, stated that multiple raids were underway to trace and apprehend the suspects. He reiterated that the police were committed to a thorough investigation and that the culprits would be brought to justice soon.

According to the Delhi Police, the 17-year-old had been rushed to the hospital after the attack but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
