This remarkable feat holds even greater significance, as Yano becomes the first woman from the Nyishi tribe to achieve this challenging climb.

At 11:50 am, Yano and her Sherpa team reached Everest's peak.

Kabad Yano, a young mountaineer and cricketer from Arunachal Pradesh scaled the mighty Mount Everest on Tuesday, becoming the fifth woman from the state to conquer the world's highest peak.

This remarkable feat holds even greater significance, as Yano becomes the first woman from the Nyishi tribe to achieve this challenging climb.

Reaching the summit at 11:50 am alongside her Sherpa support team, Yano's journey embodies the unwavering spirit of a woman who dared to dream beyond boundaries.

Hailing from the remote village of Kabak in Kamle district, Yano's path to Everest was one of resilience.

Her humble beginnings and the loss of her father at a young age could not extinguish the fire within her. Financial hardships were a constant hurdle, yet Yano never lost sight of her goal.

"Representing Arunachal Pradesh as an example of women's empowerment is a privilege," Yano declared with unwavering resolve before embarking on the Everest expedition.

Yano's talents extend far beyond the realm of mountaineering. She is a multi-faceted athlete, having represented the Arunachal cricket team in the Women's U-23 T20 League.

Her agility and skills were not limited to the cricket pitch, as Yano also showcased her prowess on the football field, playing for the Kamle district team.

The ascent to Everest, however, was not without its challenges.

Securing the estimated Rs 30 lakh required for the expedition proved to be a formidable obstacle. Yet, Yano's determination resonated with well-wishers who rallied behind her, initiating fundraising efforts to bridge the financial gap.

Everester Sorang Tagit Abraham played a crucial role in Yano's remarkable transformation.

He became her mentor, providing the initial training and guidance necessary for her transition from cricketer to mountaineer.

"While her physical fitness from cricket was an asset," Tagit explained, "scaling Everest demanded a different level of mental fortitude and technical skills."

Dr Kabak Tamar, a prominent figure in Arunachal Pradesh's sporting community, highlighted the need for a dedicated government policy for job recruitment in the field of adventure sports.

Such initiatives, Dr. Tamar believes, would serve as a catalyst, inspiring more young people to pursue these challenging yet rewarding endeavours, ultimately bringing recognition to both the state and the nation.

"Her journey, from playing cricket and studying at Rashtriya Raksha University in Pasighat to conquering Everest, serves as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring adventurers and athletes alike," declared Dr. Kabak, who spearheaded the fundraising efforts for Yano's expedition.

Before her Everest triumph, she successfully scaled Mt UT Kangri, which stands at an altitude of 6,080 meters and came close to conquering Mt Nun, which stands at an elevation of 7,135 meters.  Both the mountains are located in Ladakh.

Yano's unwavering spirit and dedication were further bolstered by her prior training at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) in Darjeeling and the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports in Dirang.
