Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday visited Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar jail.

Mann expressed concern over Kejriwal's alleged mistreatment, asserting that the AAP leader was being denied basic amenities, even afforded to hardcore criminals.

Accompanied by AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak, Mann disclosed that their meeting with Kejriwal, though limited to half an hour, was conducted through a glass partition, communicating via phone.

"I became emotional seeing him. He is being treated like a hardcore criminal. What is his fault? Is it his fault that he built mohalla clinics?" said Mann.

Pathak said Kejriwal was worried about the people of Delhi and was constantly inquiring whether they were getting subsidies.

"Even while being inside jail, he is worried about the people of Delhi. He said that from next week, he will call two ministers to discuss issues. He has also asked party MLAs to go out among people," Pathak said.

Pathak reiterated Kejriwal's commitment to public welfare, noting his intention to convene discussions with ministers upon his release and urging party MLAs to engage directly with constituents.

The meeting took place within the confines of the 'mulakat jangla,' a room partitioned by a glass barrier, as confirmed by a Tihar jail official.

Security measures were heightened, with local police stationed outside Tihar jail, given Mann's Z+ security status.

Kejriwal's incarceration stems from allegations made by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding his involvement in the "entire conspiracy of Delhi liquor scam."

Kejriwal's detention stems from his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, with his judicial custody expiring imminently.

The ED has levelled accusations against Kejriwal, implicating him in the Delhi liquor scam, alleging his involvement in policy formulation to benefit from illicit gains for electoral purposes in the Goa Assembly elections.
