Arvind Kejriwal Says BJPs Goal Is To Reverse AAP Reforms In Delhi.

Arvind Kejriwal, former Chief Minister of Delhi and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), held a marathon meeting with party members urging them to intensify their efforts in securing all 70 seats in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.

During the meeting with AAP's Mandal-level office bearers in Pitampura, Kejriwal praised the resilience of party members despite facing what he described as unprecedented harassment from political opponents, particularly the BJP.

Kejriwal emphasised that the future of Delhi is at a crucial juncture, accusing the BJP of attempting to dismantle the progress made under AAP’s leadership. He underscored the importance of unity within the party and called for the party workers to approach the upcoming elections with dedication and passion.

Kejriwal's speech reflected his confidence in AAP’s ability to outperform its previous results, but he also warned of the high stakes involved if they fail to retain power.

The meeting saw the presence of top AAP leaders, including Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, and Sanjay Singh, who have been key figures in the party’s governance.

Satyendar Jain, recently granted bail after spending nearly two years in jail on charges of money laundering, received a hero’s welcome from the gathered party members. Kejriwal praised Jain and the party for standing strong despite the numerous legal and political challenges they have faced.

Kejriwal drew a strong parallel between the upcoming election and India’s fight for independence. He invoked the names of freedom fighters such as Bhagat Singh and Subhas Chandra Bose, comparing their sacrifices to the efforts of AAP leaders and workers.

He urged party members to view their work as a continuation of the struggle for freedom, stating that their dedication could safeguard the reforms they have introduced in Delhi, especially in education and healthcare.

The former Chief Minister accused the BJP of attempting to disrupt AAP’s work by targeting its leaders and using the office of the Lieutenant Governor to create administrative roadblocks.

He alleged that the BJP had tried to break the party by jailing several of its prominent leaders, including himself, Satyendar Jain, and Manish Sisodia. However, Kejriwal claimed that the party remained united due to the unwavering support of its workers and leaders.

According to Kejriwal, the BJP’s alleged tactics to sabotage AAP’s work in Delhi stem from insecurity. He stated that the BJP is being questioned in various states, especially regarding the welfare initiatives that AAP has successfully implemented in Delhi and Punjab.

Kejriwal argued that the BJP is trying to halt AAP's work in Delhi to prevent similar demands for free electricity, healthcare, and improved public services from spreading to other states.

Kejriwal further accused the BJP of engaging in divisive politics, which he described as a betrayal of the country’s interests. He highlighted AAP's achievements in governance, particularly in education, healthcare, electricity, water, and infrastructure, claiming that no other party in India’s history had accomplished what AAP has done in such a short time.

He questioned the BJP's intentions, stating that their goal was to undo all the progress made under AAP’s administration, particularly in providing basic services like 24-hour electricity and clean water.

He stressed that the upcoming elections are not just about winning or losing but about preserving the reforms AAP has introduced in Delhi. He warned that if AAP fails to return to power, the people of Delhi could face increased electricity rates, deteriorating infrastructure, and poor public services.

Kejriwal emphasised that while many BJP-ruled states suffer from long power outages, Delhi enjoys uninterrupted electricity, thanks to AAP’s efforts. He cautioned that a BJP win could reverse these gains and return Delhi to a state of neglect.

Towards the end of his address, Kejriwal spoke about the open letter he has written to the people of Delhi, outlining the importance of the upcoming elections and urging citizens to continue supporting AAP’s vision for the city.

He instructed party workers to distribute the letter to every household in Delhi between the 20th and 29th of the month, stressing that this would help spread the message about the stakes involved in the election.

Manish Sisodia also addressed the gathering, echoing Kejriwal’s sentiment that the BJP had failed in its attempts to break AAP by imprisoning its key leaders.

Sisodia praised the commitment of AAP’s ground-level volunteers, who he said have remained steadfast in their support for the party. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi also took the stage, reiterating that the BJP’s efforts to dismantle AAP through the arrests of Satyendar Jain, Manish Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh were unsuccessful.

Atishi concluded by emphasising that the party must remain united to ensure that Arvind Kejriwal becomes the Chief Minister of Delhi for a fourth time. Gopal Rai, another senior AAP leader, added a symbolic comparison, likening Kejriwal to the warrior Arjun from the Mahabharata, stating that while the BJP believed AAP leaders would fall into their traps like Abhimanyu, Kejriwal proved to be a master strategist who navigated the challenges skillfully.
