Kiren Rijiju, sworn in as a Cabinet minister in the third Narendra Modi government on Sunday, pledged to work with unwavering dedication to realise the prime minister's vision of a developed India.
Rijiju, continuing as a minister for the third consecutive term—initially as a minister of state, later as a Cabinet minister—expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for the opportunity to serve.
"It is a privilege and honor to serve as a minister under Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the third time," Rijiju said.
A tribal and a member of the minority Buddhist community from Arunachal Pradesh, Rijiju highlighted his happiness in serving the nation. "I will do my best with all sincerity and dedication to fulfill the dream of the prime minister for a Viksit Bharat (developed India)," he affirmed.
Earlier, Rijiju posted on X, announcing his oath-taking ceremony as a Cabinet minister scheduled for 7.30 pm on June 9, 2024. As the outgoing earth sciences minister, he vowed to serve the nation with zeal and devotion.
"Thank you Arunachal Pradesh, @narendramodi ji, @BJP4India and people of India. I will serve the nation with greater zeal and devotion," he wrote.
Rijiju's political journey includes taking oath as a minister of state in 2014, becoming a minister of state with independent charge in 2019, and advancing to a Cabinet minister role in 2021.
His recent electoral success secured him a fourth term representing the Arunachal West Lok Sabha seat.
