Shivakumar Gautam, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, is suspected to be the main shooter in the murder of Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique. Gautam has reportedly told Mumbai Police that the gang had planned to target Aftab Poonawala, the man accused in the murder of Shraddha Walkar.
According to Mumbai Police sources, Gautam revealed that another gang member, Shubham Lonkar, along with other senior members, had discussed targeting Aftab Poonawala.
This information has since been passed on to the Delhi Police for further investigation. However, the gang decided not to proceed with the plan due to the increased security around Poonawala.
Shraddha Walkar murder case
The Shraddha Walkar murder case shocked the nation. In May 2022, Aftab Poonawala allegedly strangled Shraddha Walkar, his live-in partner, to death. He then went on to chop her body into 35 pieces, storing them in a refrigerator. Over the next 18 days, he scattered her body parts across different areas in Delhi.
The couple, originally from Bengaluru, had moved to Delhi, where their relationship was disapproved of by Shraddha's family.
In January 2023, the Delhi Police filed a massive 6,600-page chargesheet in the case, and a trial court framed charges of murder and body disposal against Aftab Poonawala.

His murder has become a major point of investigation, and Gautam, a suspected member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, is believed to have been the main shooter in this case.
