Faisal Nadeem, alias Abu Qatal, a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative and one of India’s most wanted terrorists, has been killed in Pakistan. According to reports, Qatal was shot dead on Saturday night.
A close associate of Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Qatal had been charge-sheeted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the Rajouri terror attack of January 2023.
Two other Pakistan-based LeT handlers, Saifullah alias Sajid Jutt—who also went by the names Ali, Habibullah, and Nouman—and Mohd Qasim, had also been named in the charge-sheet.
The NIA had filed the charge-sheet as part of its ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Rajouri Attack
The case, registered as RC-01 & 02/2023/NIA/JMU, pertained to the brutal attack on civilians in Dhangri, Rajouri, on 1 January 2023.
The assault was followed by an IED blast the next day.
The twin attacks had left seven dead, including two children, and several others grievously injured.
While Abu Qatal and Sajid Jutt had been Pakistani nationals, Qasim had crossed over to Pakistan around 2002 and subsequently joined LeT.
Investigative findings had revealed that the trio had played a key role in recruiting and deploying LeT operatives from Pakistan into Jammu and Kashmir, orchestrating attacks on civilians, particularly targeting members of the minority community, as well as security personnel.
These attacks were executed under their direct instructions.
