India and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in accordance with the 2021 agreement between the two nations.
The decision was reached during a Brigade Commander-level flag meeting between Indian and Pakistani troops at Chakan-Da-Bagh in the Poonch sector on Friday morning.
The meeting was held nearly ten days after low-intensity skirmishes along the LoC in Jammu, Rajouri, and Poonch districts, which resulted in the deaths of two Indian Army personnel, including a captain, and injuries to four others.
Reports suggest that the Pakistani side also suffered casualties, though there has been no official confirmation from Islamabad regarding the losses.
Highly placed sources told reporters that the Indian Army is determined to install closed-circuit television cameras (CCTVs) along its side of the LoC to monitor infiltrators and prevent intrusion attempts.
However, the Pakistani side is reportedly attempting to target this surveillance system as it seeks to push terrorists into Indian territory for subversive activities.

According to sources, the Indian delegation took strong exception to certain “unwanted activities” by Pakistani troops along the LoC in Jammu, Poonch, and Rajouri sectors, warning that such actions could have serious repercussions.
In response, the Pakistani Army attempted to shift the blame onto Indian troops, but their claims were firmly refuted by the Indian delegation.
Despite these tensions, sources said the talks concluded on a peaceful note, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to the ceasefire agreement of February 25, 2021, which applies to both the LoC and the International Border.
While there have been sporadic violations by Pakistan, the ceasefire remains largely in place.
“The CCTVs have already been installed in many areas on the LoC by the Indian side,” sources said.
Further intelligence reports suggest that the Pakistani Army may facilitate infiltration attempts by militants into Jammu and Kashmir.
However, the Indian Army has put in place robust security measures to thwart such bids, sources added.
