Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla leads 85th AIPOC conference discussions in Patna.


Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is set to inaugurate the 85th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference (AIPOC) in Patna, Bihar, on January 20, 2025.

 

The conference, which brings together key political figures and leaders, will focus on the "75th Anniversary of the Constitution: Contribution of Parliament and State Legislative Bodies in Strengthening Constitutional Values".

 

This event will see the participation of various dignitaries, including Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Harivansh, Bihar's Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, as well as leaders from the Bihar Legislative Assembly.

 

Over the course of the two-day event, delegates will engage in discussions on vital topics surrounding the contribution of parliamentary bodies to India’s constitutional development.

 

The Valedictory Session, scheduled for January 21, 2025, will be addressed by Bihar's Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and Speaker Om Birla, along with several other prominent figures from both Bihar and national politics.

 

One of the highlights of the event will be the release of the 8th edition of the ‘Practice and Procedure of Parliament’ by Speaker Om Birla.

 

This book, which is essential for understanding the workings of the Indian Parliament, will be a key addition to the body of resources available to lawmakers and other stakeholders.

 

In addition to the AIPOC, Om Birla will also inaugurate the Neva Seva Kendra at the Bihar Legislature premises, an initiative aimed at improving the administrative efficiency of the state legislature.

 

This will be followed by the 61st Conference of Secretaries of Legislative Bodies in India, which will be held on January 19, 2025. The focus of this conference will be on integrating modern technologies within legislative bodies to increase their efficiency and productivity.
