The Lok Sabha is set to take up the introduction of several key bills on Monday during the Monsoon Session, including legislation on tribunal reforms, mining regulations, the proposed change in Kerala’s name and cooperative development.
Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal will seek leave to introduce the Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026, which aims to improve the efficiency, independence, transparency and uniformity of tribunals. The Bill also proposes setting up a National Tribunals Commission and changes to the qualifications, appointments and service conditions of tribunal chairpersons and members.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy is scheduled to introduce a Bill seeking to amend the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.
Home Minister Amit Shah will move the Kerala (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2026, which seeks to change the name of the southern state. Shah is also scheduled to introduce the National Co-operative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, proposing further changes to the National Co-operative Development Corporation Act, 1962.

Several Union ministers are also scheduled to lay government papers on the Table of the House.
In the Rajya Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will move the Bankers’ Books Evidence Bill, 2026, for consideration and passage. The legislation seeks to update the legal framework governing evidence related to bankers’ books in line with contemporary digital banking practices.
The Upper House is also scheduled to consider the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026. The Bill proposes amendments to the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, the Income-tax Act, 2025, and the Finance Act, 2026.
The proposed legislation comes amid a busy Monsoon Session, with several economic, administrative and governance-related measures lined up for parliamentary consideration.
