The upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela in 2025 promises to be an unparalleled spiritual gathering, as declared by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. Scheduled from January 14 to February 26, 2025, in Prayagraj, this grand event is expected to draw a staggering 50 crore participants from across the globe.

Maurya expressed these sentiments after participating in the Pran Pratishtha and idol installation ceremony at the Shri Narmadeshwar Shiv Temple in Umarpur Niwan, Prayagraj district.

Maurya emphasised, “The Kumbh of 2025 will be historic, grand, and divine, with nearly 50 crore people expected to participate from all corners of the world.” He underscored the significance of this upcoming event, highlighting its anticipated magnitude and spiritual resonance.

In readiness for this monumental gathering, Uttar Pradesh Minister AK Sharma affirmed the state government’s commitment to complete all development projects well in advance of the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025.

These projects include the construction of pontoon bridges and roads to enhance transportation for tourists and devotees. Sharma assured, “All development initiatives will be finalised before the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, ensuring visitors experience the divine essence of this grand event.”

The preparations also entail substantial efforts to upgrade facilities along major routes, with subsidies announced for the transformation of dhabas, restaurants, and hotels. These enhancements aim to offer superior amenities to the influx of tourists and devotees expected during the festival.

Commencing on January 13, 2025, with the Poush Purnima bathing festival and concluding on February 26, 2025, with Maha Shivaratri, the Maha Kumbh Mela features key bathing ceremonies, notably the “Shahi Snan” (royal baths) on January 14, January 29, and February 3. These rituals are central to the spiritual experience sought by millions of attendees.

He affirmed his prayers for the well-being and prosperity of devotees, locals, and the state’s populace during this auspicious period.
